The Golden Toad was only recently discovered in 1964. It was
discovered in a remote location of Costa Rica?s Monteverde Cloud Forest
Reserve. Unfortunately, the last sighting of this toad was in 1989. Later
they were declared extinct due to not being seen again. I wanted to convey
a sense of longing and fading in this painting, as if you are seeing this
toad for the last time and by morning they will be gone forever. This piece
was done in oil paint and measured 16? x 20?. The original is available for
$850 unframed.
