The Approach
The Jaguar is the king of the jungle in South America. Here in
the Pantanal region the jaguar approaches a caiman who is below the riverbank.
Readying himself to pounce and get some caiman meat this pastel piece precedes my
ink painting “The Clash”. I wanted to capture the suspense of this muscular cat
before the fight between the mighty caiman and jaguar predators occur. This piece
measures about 14”x20”. The original is available for sale for $1000 unframed.

Don’t Blink
A part of the big cat series, “Don’t Blink” is painted in oil and is more of a monochromatic
piece. The cheetah is an amazing athlete with its lean muscled body. I painted this piece to
freeze a moment during its speedy run. Meant to be similar to a horse racing pose, the
cheetah is flying through the grass unhindered and focused. The color and spots camouflage
the cheetah as it passes. I titled this painting “Don’t Blink” because if you blink this speedy cat
will vanish before your eye. It may vanish do to its speed but also because it is a vulnerable
species. The canvas measures 24” x 48”. The original painting is available for sale at $5000.

Swooping Little Brown Bat
Bats are adorable amazing creatures. I tried to do a fine art
piece through a digital medium to capture a little brown bat swooping after
a moth. The little brown bat had a huge population but in recent years have
suffered greatly because of the fungal disease called white-nose syndrome.
Today, organizations are trying to work to protect and conserve this
species.

Look Before You Hide (Pallas Cat)
The Pallas cat is a small wild cat from central Asia. They
have an unusual look with a squarish head, and have a thick coat because
they live in a cold climate. Unfortunately their species is considered
threatened. This painting was done in India ink on a mat board. It
measures approximately 11” x 14”. The original is available for sale at
$450.

Seafaring Orca
A small India ink painting of an orca under the waves. I created this artwork by using only three
ink colors: black, white, and blue. The light reflects around dancing on the top of the orca’s
back. I painted this piece after a voting from my fans. They voted for a sea creature so I
decided to paint an orca. This piece measures 5”x 7”. The original is for sale at $100
unframed.

Pause Before Play
The river otter is a fun and playful creature. I have seen them in the wild when fishing or along
the rivers in the mountains/ Painted in India ink, this artwork captures a moment when the
otter looks back before returning to the water. This was an experiment of doing water and
capturing different textures in ink. It measures approximately 9” x 12” and is available for sale
at $450.

Life Is Elusive
A 16”x 20” pastel piece of the Amur leopard. Amur Leopards are critically endangered and
very rare in the wild. Here the snow is slowly melting and you see the path the leopard took
down the hill. It is composed so you are just catching a glimpse of this beautiful cat as it
passes by. I desired to freeze a moment of the Amur Leopard that may vanish from our sight
both figuratively and literally. This is piece is available for sale at $900 unframed.

Untamed Angel The Mustang
This is an India ink painting of a mustang I adopted from the BLM. A wild spirit at heart, she
came to my home completely untamed. Eventually by working with her we came to an
understanding and she is now tamed and trained. However, her wild spirit has never left her.
This piece captures that life and nature with her mane flying. I used some metallic ink color to
convey a sense of permanence with beauty. This measures 11”x 14” and the original is not
available for sale.

Endangered Soul
The snow leopard is a rare and beautiful animal. I love doing pieces of this animal and this is
one of my earlier ones. The snow leopard is looking at you as it relaxes on the rock. It’s stare
captures your heart. Done in pastel, many different colors are portrayed in the white of the fur.
This piece won an award at the World of the Wild art show at the Hogle Zoo. It measures about
11” x 14” and the original is available for sale at $500 unframed.

Lucky The Quarab
A pastel piece of my horse I owned while growing up named Lucky. She was a crossbreed of
an Arabian and a Quarter horse. I wanted to do a portrait memorializing her after her passing.
She was a really well behaved horse that I treasured and we used to say she had a deer-like
face. It is 16”x20” artwork and not available for sale.

The Spirit Of The West
Three wild mustangs running in the desert of the west. Created in pastels, it has a storm
blowing in the distance. The beauty of the wild horses captures the dramatic landscape of the
western United States, and was meant to invoke the spirit of nature that mustangs represent
and capture. This piece measure approximately 16”x 20”. The original is available for $900
unframed.

Splattered Fun
Peering at you from the water, this bottlenose dolphin was painted in oil. Originally, I wanted to
do an almost fantasy sky that meets and was reflected in the water. However, I changed the
design to be more realistic. With a cloudy sky barely breaking in the distance your eye is lead
to the dolphin in the front. This piece measures 16”x 20” and is currently available for sale at
$960 unframed.

Do Not Disturb
An oil painting of a black jaguar in the rainforest. I painted this piece to evoke a peaceful, calm
emotion. I wanted to portray the panther as resting, yet disturbed slightly by your stare. He
slightly opens his eyes to get a look at what awoke him. When stressed, please look at this
piece, take a breath, and relax. The dimensions are 24” x 48”. This piece is currently available
for sale at $5000.

Show Me How Mama
Show Me How Mama” is a pastel piece expressing a mother snow leopard with her cub. In
the snow the mother jumps across a ledge. The small cub looks up watching her behavior
from outside a small cave. I created this piece to capture an enjoyable personal moment
between the mother and her cub. This piece measures approximately 20” x 16”. The original is
available for $900 unframed.

Lion Of The West
Watching you from afar, this a mountain lion is rarely seen up close and personal in the wild.
This piece shows a cougar in its natural environment. Cougars are the largest cat you can see
in the wild on our American continent. My aim was to paint a moment where you can see the
life and beauty of this elusive cat — a glimpse where your eyes lock with the mountain lion’s
and you see into its soul. The dimensions of this piece are 24” x 48”. The original is available
for sale at $5000.

Growing Up
This is a three panel oil painting of a kitten growing up to
adulthood. It was a collaboration with Julia Hansen. Meant to capture
life in its many different forms, this piece was painted of a feral kitten
named Zen’s growth into adulthood. It is quite a large painting when
placed together measuring approximately 24”x 90” and is available for sale
only as a set at $9000.

Vanishing Soul
The extraordinary close up pastel painting of a snow leopard’s face. This piece
is meant to capture the life and soul of this vulnerable animal species. Snow
leopards are intelligent, beautiful animals that deserve protection to live their
lives to the fullest. As an artist who believes in the intelligence and emotions
of animals, I worked tirelessly to capture the small details of this individual
snow leopard. You cannot escape the gaze of this beautiful animal as you are so
close you can see the small hairs on its nose. This pastel measures approximately
14”x11”. The original has sold but prints are available.

Stately Grace
The lynx is a very elusive cat to see in the wild. This is a portrait of one in pastel. I saw a lynx a
number of times when traveling in Alaska at Denali National Park. Larger than a bobcat, the
lynx is a hardy, tough cat. The color of their coat is a bit plain compared to other cats but it is a
thick and beautiful. I wanted to express the grace of this lynx with this piece. The piece
measures approximately 11”x 14”. The original is available for sale at $400 unframed.

Kazek's Breakfast Guest
A pastel piece of the tiger named Kazek that was at the Hogle Zoo. While Kazek eats his
breakfast, the magpie’s surround him mischievously looking to sneak a piece of meat for
themselves. This piece measures approximately 16” x 20”. The original is available for sale at
$900 unframed.

Endangered Life
The piece depicts a snow leopard looking over its mountainous landscape. This was a
completely monochromatic piece painted on a black board with white India ink only. The only
color in this piece was done on the eye and a little on the nose. I painted this piece to capture
the fragility and beauty of this animal in its natural landscape. The contrast between the black
and white portrays the dramatic and majestic atmosphere. This painting measures 12” x 9”.
The original is available for sale at $450 unframed.

The Clash
This ink painting is of a Jaguar attacking a Caiman. On this muddy river bank the
Caiman was hidden beneath the muddy water when the Jaguar pounced down on it. There is
vigorous battle and after awhile the Jaguar finally gets the upper hand. This painting is meant
to show the power between two great predators and the need for survival. It measures 16” x
20” and the original is for sale for $900.

The Hunt Study
An oil painting done as a study based on “The Hunt” by Willam Silvers. I created this painting
to experiment with fur and a technique called “wet on wet” in oil painting. It was done on a 16”
x 20” canvas. This piece is available for sale at $450.

Aussie's Tree Lord
I have always loved the land of the Australian outback so creating a piece of an animal from
there was only natural. The koala is only one of the many unique animals from Australia. The
koala sits peacefully while majestically observing the viewer. This was done in pastel and
measures approximately 11”x 14”. It is available for sale at $450.

Bubbly Fun
A bottlenose dolphin painted in oil. The dolphin is under the water being playful and looking at
the viewer. Bubbles dance in the water around. Reflected light dances around on the skin of its
body. This piece is meant to portray a playful, happy emotion. This piece measures
16” x 20”. This is sold.

Tranquil Ferocity
This pastel piece depicts a male Amur Tiger getting a drink of water. My aim was to capture a
moment of peace in this powerful feline’s life. Water, the source of life reflects the image of the
tiger with the ripples distorting its reflection. This symbolizes how the future of this species is
distorted and uncertain. The Amur tiger is an endangered species that has every right to live
its life. This piece is meant to capture the essence of that life. I wanted to capture life itself
with all these different sources in nature. The sun, plants, and water with the reflection are
meant to show this. It measures approximately 15” x 16”. It is available for sale at $ 650
unframed.
