My newest ink painting is titled “Overlooked Beauty”. I’ve been a little surprised of how much I have enjoyed doing some paintings of bugs lately. There were so many ladybugs at our place when I took the reference photos for this painting.
I added a variety of colors including some metallic aspects. This painting really has a bright sheen of different colors depending on what light it is. The texture turned out great as well! I might have to do a painting of a bee or something one of these times ๐
Lucky is complete!!
So I finished my portrait of Lucky, my Quarter Arabian. Unfortunately, I’m currently working on getting the finished version added to my portfolio. So you can can’t see it right now. However, I compiled all of the photos with the progress of this portrait.
The photo at the end shows the painting almost complete. It just needed a few more finishing touches at that point. It always amazes me how the lighting can change the portrait so much. You can see it pretty apparently in this group of photos. Nonetheless it is really fun to see how it progresses.

Happy July 4th!!
First off, happy July 4th! I decided it might be fun to post a little about myself.
So if you know me you would know that I love anime, mangas, and some video games! My favorite game series are Fire Emblem and the Tales of series. I’ve loved Fire Emblem for a LONG LONG time ๐ In some of my fantasy artwork I gain inspiration from these series. “Dragons of Balance” would be the most specific example of this.
So as references and because I just love some of these characters I collect some of the Fire Emblem and Tales merchandise. Here are some of my newest additions, Marth and Sheeda! They are from the earliest Fire Emblem games. I absolutely adore the pegasus that Sheeda is on too! It is SOOO cute! Enjoy their adorableness ๐
Fun in the Sun!
So I took the time to give my horse Streak a bath. If you have looked at my portfolio there is an ink painting called Arabian Soul. Streak would be my model for that.
I’ve had Streak for quite a long time. He is now about 20-21 years old, getting up there but not to bad for an Arabian. He is looking great and being all cleaned up he is so shiny. He even smells really good haha XD
Baby Griffin
So my newest design in progress is below. I was sketching and drew this baby griffin. It seemed like he should be finished off so onto coloring him. All of my digital designs start as an ink sketch which I then scan into the computer. After formatting it I use certain programs to start painting it. You can see the base coats in progress in the other photo.
Horse Movement Anatomy Sketch
Horses are beautiful animals. In painting and drawing if you don’t get the anatomy of a horse just right, often you can tell right away something is wrong. Here is a page of study drawing series I did of the movement of a cantering horse. Doing this was very enlightening and helped me to learn how the muscles move in this magnificent animal.
Update on Lucky
Video of an amazing artist at work!
Though I have never been a big fan of math I did always love MC Escher’s work. Here is a video of this master artist at work. It is amazing how detailed and exact he is in making the illusions in his artwork.
Beauty of a Field
I find nature spots like this and I can’t help but snap a photo. They inspire and uplift, a place of peace that seems almost untouched to time. Places like this are just beautiful to sit in.
A landscape like this is perfect to be inspired and sketch ideas. I love sketching in places like this! It is like walking into a past era where nature just comes to life.
Beautiful, simply beautiful.
