I went up West Canyon on this great trail ride. It was beautiful, the leaves were so bright with yellow, orange, red, etc. Just what I needed to invigorate me 🙂

I’m working on my next dragon painting in my Asian dragon series. This will be the red dragon. I haven’t seen many dragons surrounded by roses and thought it would be a cool design. I sketched out a few versions but this one was just perfect! It has a sort of exotic, sensual feeling which I think makes the dragon very intriguing!! This is the update at the moment. Getting the roses in takes quite a bit of time but it will be so beautiful when it is complete!

“Enfield” a mystical creature originating from Northwestern Europe. It is rare in medieval lore but is present none the less. I find it to be a beautiful yet sly creature and decided I needed to paint one. So here we have it, an india ink painting of this amazing creature!

This was an experiment using watercolor paper instead of my usual matboard that I do with ink. It turned out pretty well so I will have to do more in the future. Going to have to try some other lesser known fantasy creatures 😀

With Lucky completed it is time to move onto the next pastel picture. So here it is, the sketch ready to start the coloring process. The sketch is currently a tiger without stripes, might be a bit but you’ll see his stripes eventually! 😉

Here is an update on the progress of my current oil painting. I find myself being able to cheer up from painting this dolphin. The atmosphere with the dolphin bring a sense of peace and joy. I have a bunch of lighting I need to complete on it so the dolphin pops out and appears more wet and moist. Still, the painting is all starting to come together. When it is complete I hope it bring some happiness to all of you.

So I was eating breakfast yesterday and lo and behold a red tailed hawk decides to show up right outside my window. He landed in our willow tree and got all comfy. So I grabbed the camera and snuck outside. I snapped a variety of photos but here is one of them. It is hard because there are so many leaves but they still turned out really well. It was great because this handsome guy didn’t fly away either! Seeing him so up close makes me want to do another painting of this beautiful bird. For now I can enjoy the reference photos! XD
