This is the concept for my next ink painting. A portrait of my mustang Angel! I’m really excited to get started on this as it has been long in the making. I had an idea to do a portrait of her years ago but hadn’t gotten to it. Should turn out wonderfully!

“The Gift of Peace” is the sixth installment in my Asian dragon series. It focuses on the blue dragon. A symbol of peace, trust, and know for being pacifying it is a very calming peace. I enjoyed doing the ocean and having the dragon come to life! With only seven more types of dragons left to do this is almost the half way point!

I graduated from high school ten years ago this year. Yikes!! Anyway, figured I would do a look back to what I was drawing back then. I was drawing a ton of hands so I could get good at them. I was getting tired of looking for references and looking at my own hand so I had my friends become hand models. Here are some of the poses they did which I drew in this hand study.
There is a snake, doh, no a kitten in my boot! This is Ewok, one of the kittens we have taken in. She is adorable but sometimes gets into some mischief. 😉
Here is my mustang Angel with her new summer coat. Love how in the summer I get to hang out with my horses without worry about a jacket or getting cold lol 🙂
I haven’t done a cougar for a long time. It has been really nice to paint one and see it take shape and form. The sketches I posted two weeks ago shows how the concept is being put into action. It is starting to take life which is my favorite part of a painting. Can wait to start working on the cougar himself a little more!
Here is my cartoon Enfield!! It is adorable. Was thinking it would be good to have a mascot or something to represent my site. So at this point I’m thinking this little guy will be good. In the meantime, you can check him out on all these products below:
These are two of the early concept drawings for my current cougar oil painting. While I don’t do concept drawings for all of my pieces the large oil paintings I always do to try to make sure they turn out how I would like. Saves me the trouble of messing around on the actual painting to figure out the composition. I’ll have to update you on the status of the cougar painting soon! 😀
