So here is my latest oil painting in progress. I always have loved snakes and haven’t actually painted one for sometime. It has a ways to go but starting to get the minute details in. If you know me I always have a bunch of projects going on at the same time. Figured I would let you see this one.

Thank you everyone who came and saw us yesterday. It went well and my sister and I were very happy to be able to be working artists at the Utah State Fair. Even though it rained on us for a little while there were quite a few people who showed up. We really appreciate all of those who came!
Announcement!!! Coming up on September 14 I will be at the Utah State Fair as a demo artist in the fine art exhibit. I will be there between 11- 4:30 pm. I look forward to meeting some of you in person!

I heard at one point in time that hands can be one of the hardest parts of the body. At one point in time I was drawing hands over and over again to get good at them. I think I have a collection of almost 100 hands or something. Here is one of the earlier sketches!
So “Fleeting Moment” my butterfly ink painting is complete! This one took a lot of careful planning and time to finish. With ink you can’t fix the painting very easily so all the details on the butterfly had to be thought out.
It ended up looking great and showing off itself. So here is the before and after for this painting. You can also see it in my portfolio!
Update on the horse portrait of Lucky. Step two: base coats. This step takes longer. A lot more base coat area to go. Getting the grey on the muzzle was a little tricky but finally got it looking better.
The subject always looks rather interesting at this stage.
