The answer to the mystery ;)

Good job, everyone who guessed last week. The answer is a Amur Tiger. Here is my pastel of one of these amazing animals!

For those of you who have been to Hogle Zoo, this is Kazek. One of the tigers they have there. I loved how the magpies all gathered to steal a piece of the meat he was having. So in the end, I went for the zoo environment instead of the true wild environment.

Enjoy! 😉

Phoenix Types

My newest digital artwork is done. I was going through some of my old stuff and found some pictures I had done as a kid. So I decided to revamp this one. Here is the finished product! It turned out a lot better then I thought it would! 😀

Phoenix watermark

This is all the species/races of Phoenix from top to bottom.
Center Top: Fire Phoenix
Center Left: Savannah Phoenix
Center Right: Ocean Phoenix
Bottom ones are: Forest Phoenix and the Tundra Phoenix

If you are interested in anything else about them just ask! 🙂

Animal of the month

Pallas cat is the answer to last week’s animal. To bad, no one wanted to chance guess for the right answer huh?

The Pallas cat (also know as a Manul) is a little bigger then a house cat. They are located in Central Asia. They can be distinguished by their small square shaped heads with short ears. They have thick coats of fur for the types of environments they live in.

For those of you in Utah, you can even get the chance to see this wildcat at Utah’s Hogle Zoo. That is if your lucky. Here are some photos for your enjoyment that I managed to snag from there.

The animal puzzle

I thought it might be fun to see the knowledge of all you animal lovers out there. I have attached a zoomed in (partially blurry) image of one of the cats I’ve painted. See if you can guess which wild cat this is.

Here are some hints:
1. It is on the near threatened list
2. small wild cat (not a house cat)
3. located in eastern part of the world (namely Asia)
