Sketching is just a part of my life. I do it when I’m waiting for a haircut or just have any spare moment. A lot of artists don’t like to show anything from their sketchbook. Well, here I am giving you a sneak peak. Below is a sketch I did when I just felt like drawing but not doing something technical. I don’t have the time I use to for these types of sketches but it is always fun to do them.
Today I have a new update with a whole new series of products. These are my Dimensional Ponies series. This is a series of cartoon ponies characters that my sister and I have created. Their are a variety of different creatures and many others. At the moment I have four different characters up on red bubble. More are to come. I finally got around to taking a photo of my newest large oil painting. It is called “Don’t Blink”. It is 2′ by 4′ in size. I finished it around the end of last year so it has been drying for the last while. Soon it will be ready for varnishing.
This weeks post is about Endangered Soul. Endangered Soul is a portrait of Snow Leopard. It was done in pastel a number of years ago.
At the time I wanted to do a this painting because I really think Snow Leopards are amazing cats. They are becoming very rare in the wild which is so sad to see. They are beautiful creatures who already manage to survive in such harsh environments. Truly there is beauty in the most difficult of places if we look for it.
Perhaps you can see the soul of this creature through this picture.

So I’ve had people ask me, “where do you get your ideas?” I get inspired a lot of new pics I could do just by living my life. Sometimes ideas even come from dreams I’ve had. Some other ideas come from just visiting a zoo or watching the animals around during the day.
One of the things I try to do when these ideas come is to do a sketch or write it down before I forget. Many of my sketch books are filled with quick drawing of these ideas. Doing this helps me never to run out of ideas. After that when I come back later I can figure out the fine details of making it into a great painting.
As an anonymous Chinese Painter said, ” The ideas must all be in the eye before they are carried out in the brush.”
Today I will be talking about one of my portfolio oil paintings. It is called Classical Art. Classical Art is one of the few still life paintings in my collection. Growing up in a musical family, instruments and music were always a part of my life. That is where this painting originates from. My Mother was a violinist so the violin in this painting is hers.
I have found that by painting musical instruments it brings a certain emotion and life. The darker color of this particular violin brings warmth to the whole painting. It was a very technical piece as the violin must be just right to appear real. Painting this was definitely a challenge but it was worth the effort.
I love how it turned out! Please enjoy this still life painting.

This week I’ll be showing off my newest painting. It is called Bird Bunch. This painting was a commission that I was asked to do. The request was a group of sparrows on a branch. Well that is what you get right 🙂
Bird Bunch is of 7 vesper sparrows. Each sparrow has their own personality and character which I tried to portray. It took some time and a lot of feathers but here it is. I hope you all enjoy it.
