If any of you have looked at the card series you would have seen all the small kitten cards. Today I’m going to be introducing one of the kittens that are painted.

If you look at the kitten series you will notice there are quite a few cards of a small tabby. That tabby is named Webby. She was in the litter of kittens of the cat portrayed in Cat item#-105 (who is called Toadit). Webby was a sassy girl who attacked all of her brothers with vigor. I must say she was adorable 🙂 Webby has since gone to a good family but as a kitten I took many pictures of her running around as well as some of her littermates.

Most of the kitten series cards are based off the kittens from this litter. If your anything like me a kitten can sure melt your heart! Check the cards out to see the cuteness of Webby!

Yay, today is the day for my new update! I will be writing a new entry every week with updates on my art as well as some animal stories.

To start off today, I would like to introduce you to one of the animals that inspire some of my artwork. Her name is Angel, she is a wild mustang I adopted around 6 yrs. ago. I adopted her from the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) as a completely wild horse. Through the many years I have tamed and trained her. The other day to my amazement I saw Angel with a visitor on her back. You see where I live many Common Ravens come and go. Well, today there was a Raven, sitting like the world was his on Angel’s back. Angel stood there like nothing was going on, while the Raven looked as comfortable as could be. Gradually the Raven moved up Angel’s back, to her neck, finally making his way to nearly the top of her head. Playfully the Raven did light pecks at her ear. To which Angel just tensed but didn’t react. After a time the Raven finally jumped down leaving Angel alone.

You see I find it fascinating to see interactions between such different animals. Most horses would not tolerate a Raven even sitting on their back, yet Angel stood there, relaxed. Unfortunately I was unable to get my camera fast enough to capture that image. We can still enjoy the story though 🙂

Angel and I have experienced many things together, so you will probably get to read more stories about her. If any of you have interesting animal stories I would love to hear them 🙂

First off, I’m Jess Hansen, though you may already know that.  I’ll be
starting this blog to share stories of animals as well as updates on
my newest art projects.  Some of you may ask, why call your site
imaginemyuniverse and not some other more “wildlife” name?  Well, in
answer to that it is because I hope to bring the viewers of my artwork
the perspective I have on the amazing creatures surrounding us.

I guess you could say I believe that we as humans are unaware of so
many things around us.  For example you can ask someone what colors in
the sky do you see? They could say orange, red, blue, but there are so
many colors we miss.  The many different hues.  We do the same thing
with the animals around us.  We go about our business not noticing
the small ant carrying a huge load or the beauty of the dew on the
morning grass.  Life surrounds us everywhere but we are often too busy
to notice it.

That is what I wish to convey to you.  The life surrounding us
everywhere, the emotion and lives of these amazing animals.  So
welcome to this site 🙂
