The monarch butterfly is known for having one of the longest migrations for insects. I found this butterfly in our yard with the marigolds and other flowers. This is a painting created in India ink. I did ink washes off the flowers and plants in the background. The butterfly rests on a flower feeding. I wanted to portray this unique butterfly so I captured the pattern on its wings. It measures approximately 9? x 12?. It is for sale at $450.
